k Public Relations, Inc. Established 2004

You’ve built your business. It’s your passion. It has consumed more of your time than you’d probably like to admit.
You’ve struggled. You’ve sacrificed. Now it’s time to get noticed.
Your passion. Our desire.

Who we are.

How we do it.

It’s easy to go unnoticed in the daily barrage of media and messages. Breaking through that noise and getting you noticed is what we do best.

We’ve assisted new businesses in securing themselves in the marketplace, helped established organizations grow, and even seen a dot-com start-up through a multi-million dollar buyout. Our clients range widely, from some of America’s finest restaurants to enterprising, high-tech entrepreneurs. Their coverage includes Good Morning America, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times and local media too numerous to mention.

What they’re saying.

Katie and her team provide the personalized, customized service we all long for but so seldom find. Through the years I have worked with large, small and in-house representation, and have never felt so connected to a PR firm. They are like an extension of my staff.

Jerri Lane, Senior Vice President at Seattle’s Convention & Visitors Bureau and Former Director of Sales and Marketing, The Westin Seattle

I have worked closely with Katie for many years—both as a colleague and also as a media professional. She is one of the most hard working, dependable, and results-driven people in the biz. She understands the specific needs of both her clients and TV personnel—and she delivers. She won’t waste your time with fluffy pitches. Katie is also one of the friendliest people on the planet—so it’s always fun to work with her.

Judy Oehling, Planning Editor, KCPQ-TV Q13 FOX

Reliable. Persistent. Knowledgeable. Most of all, believes in our business as much as we do.

Colleen O’Leary, Former Director of Marketing, E3 & Co. (owners of Metropolitan Grill, Elliott’s Oyster House, Wing Dome)

Katie’s news judgment is spot-on. In all my years as a reporter at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, she never—and I mean never, not once—suggested a pitch that wouldn’t have made a perfectly feasible story. She knows exactly what reporters look for in a potential article, and is an unusually warm, helpful, informative source. It’s always a pleasure to see what she’s got in the works.

Rebekah Denn, Food Writer

Katie and her team provide the personalized, customized service we all long for but so seldom find. Through the years I have worked with large, small and in-house representation, and have never felt so connected to a PR firm. They are like an extension of my staff.

Jerri Lane, Senior Vice President at Seattle’s Convention & Visitors Bureau and Former Director of Sales and Marketing, The Westin Seattle

Thorough, savvy, and understands what we’re up against. Puts the ‘R’ back in public relations.

Ed White, Former Planning Manager, KING-TV

Katie is an amazing PR professional with a talent for helping her clients tell informative, entertaining, and compelling stories that engage audiences and always inspire a passionate response. Her in-depth understanding of the media landscape is only matched by her commitment to finding the best channel for her clients’ message. Katie is direct and honest with a knack for making people feel comfortable. Her flexibility, broad experience, and professional zeal make her the perfect PR rep for any firm from the largest corporation to the smallest start-up.

Anthony Detrano, Program Manager, Vroom Communications, Bezos Family Foundation

kPR was straightforward and efficient—right on target when it came to meeting my needs. Katie was a delight to work with.

Joyce Cohen, USA Today

Katie is very media-savvy and understands exactly what it takes to create a winning segment. She always submits pitches that include visuals and viewer benefit. This is rare in a public relations professional and I value her all the more for it.

Su Ring, Former Executive Producer, KING 5 TV (NBC Seattle)

Engaging. Creative. Extremely Intelligent. THE person you’d want to be seated next to on an overseas flight. Katie takes a concept and pours her special mix of enthusiasm and strategy into it—to make every interaction a delightful engagement you’ll remember and cherish.

Jennifer Blue, Founder, Blue Soup

As a media person, I have dealt with thousands of news pitches over the years, both in broadcast and print. Katie Wilkinson of kPR Inc. is known as reliable, accurate and timely, attributes that are absolutely necessary in her business and in mine. She knows what she is doing, she respects deadlines, she knows how to get a story out, and will work hard to answer any questions. I admire and appreciate her work and her work ethic. I would imagine her clients do as well.

Patti Payne, Journalist

Katie exudes a high level of effectiveness and savvy in working with the media, including great contacts and a real ability to generate compelling news coverage. She is creative and thoughtful in managing media relationships and knows how to work all sides of the aisle in terms of types of news placements. Plus, she is great fun to work with, which is always a bonus. Jane Lewis, Pine Street Associates (developed Seattle’s Pacific Place) I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Katie while working together on the American Heart Association’s marketing and PR team. Katie is one of the most well connected people I know. She’s smart, innovative and always thinking of creative, out of the box ways to share her clients’ stories with the media. She has great relationships and is well respected by her clients, peers and media contacts. I highly recommend Katie for any and all public relations work. She’s one in a million!

Robin Rucinsky, President, Thrive Advertising

I had the pleasure of working with Katie frequently when I was at Citysearch, mostly through her role as PR maven for higher-end restaurant clients. She was always enthusiastic, friendly, professional and willing to go above and beyond to help me out on tight deadlines. Katie kept me abreast of her clients’ news without overwhelming my inbox, and seemed to anticipate all of the information I would need when she was pitching a story. She completely understands the tightrope relationship between journalists and PR people. I would gladly recommend Katie’s services to anyone looking for a great cheerleader who maintains an admirable degree of professionalism.

Anna Roth, Former Seattle Editor, Citysearch

Katie is an accomplished and gifted PR professional who definitely was an asset to my team at Tutta Bella. She stands out as being one of the smartest, most collaborative people that I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. We share New England roots, so I appreciate that she can be straightforward yet also very kind and productive. She has pulled together a small team of stellar PR talent who are timely, highly skilled and exceptionally fun to work with even on the toughest of assignments. Katie’s superb reputation and ongoing connections with local media makes each of her clients more successful in their PR efforts. Katie and her team have earned my highest regards and respect!

Amy French, Former Director of Marketing and Community Relations, Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria

As a local lifestyle editor, I rely greatly on my public relations contacts to keep me informed about the restaurants, shops, products and events that are of interest to my readers. Among those contacts, Katie Wilkinson of K Public Relations is one of the best—a constant, reliable source for news about local happenings and hot spots. If I still used a Rolodex, her card would be at the front of the deck.

Monica Fischer, Freelance Editor and Writer

Katie is always great to work with because of her quick response time and follow-through. Also, because she has such a close working relationship with her clients, I know that I can count on her knowledge and trust her information.
